This week, my world is all about FOOD.
Today, I co-facilitated the Health Action Partnership’s Healthy Food Choices Priority Food Group meeting. Really good discussion and plans for the rest of the year. I hope you will join us at the next meeting: February 19th from 9-11 at United Way of Central Alabama.
I also had some good conversations about the Urban Agriculture zoning ordinance, Farmers Market planning, and…
Tomorrow I will travel to Auburn for Lt. Governor Ivey’s Alabama Child Hunger Task Force meeting.
Then there’s WBHM’s Issues & Ales panel discussion all around FOOD.
And three additional food meetings scheduled on Friday about healthy food access and nutrition education (including our partners in Walker County).
Then Food Blog South is happening this weekend.
And on top of it all, I actually made TWO homemade dishes tonight. Talk about feeling accomplished. Of course, my 14 month only only wanted cantaloupe, but whatever. Anyway, all of this to say that there’s food work happening. We are talking food insecurity, food security, hunger, urban ag, food access, creating a DESIRE for healthy food choices, resource directories, connecting dots, and so much more.
Really proud to do this work alongside some fantastic community partners and feeling inspired this week.
